Studio Art Program
This is BLOC's home to artists' studios, a dance performance space, a ceramics and pottery studio, and a traditional darkroom. The first floor performance and dance space is available to the community for varied use. Programming at the Arts building includes multi-media art, music, dance and drama classes.
The Studio Art Program, located on the 2nd floor has an “open studio” concept. This allows each individual student to be as creative as their imagination allows. We have drawing, painting, photo collage, sewing, weaving, print making…the list is long, and we are anxious to tackle anything you may dream up.
Projects are as simple as posters to support your favorite athlete to paintings for your room or your mother. We are open to kids grades 1-12 with one day dedicated to high school students only. The setting is casual with music and conversation making it easy to relax and share ideas. The Studio Art Program is not just about art - it is about building friendships, sharing your daily experiences, laughing, crying and sometimes singing and dancing. It lets the kids be kids with a little art for fun!

Pottery and Ceramics with Lo Frassati
The mission of the
pottery and ceramics program is to create a strong sense of belonging in
community through creativity, structure, and fun. I will be teaching the
fundamentals of ceramics so that students can apply creativity and create something
of their own imagination through design and expression of colors and patterns.
These lessons can be carried on outside of the classroom to be practiced on
their own or with their community. The importance of community and how to interact
with respect will be of much importance to elevate the levels of fun that
accompany being bold in ceramic creativity.
Some of the life-shaping
experiences we offer include:
- After school open studio for Oyler school (K-12) students
- Basics of hand building, pottery wheel, glazing and more
- Community fundraising
- Family, one-on-one and group classes.
Additionally, we offer
studio space to potters and artists in the Cincinnati area who are interested
in volunteering with our programs. Salsa provided by Chelsey Owen from Meraki Dance Company

As
the dance studio owner of Ballet Caraibes, LLC and Founder /Artistic Director
of Kai Kweol Caribbean Music and Dance(KKCMD), my mission is to provide quality
dance training to the Price Hill community as well as contribute and
collaborate with Oyler School to bring to the students dance classes. This
will, not only help them realize the talent within themselves, but also provide
an inclusive, loving and kind environment where students can develop their
creativity that is likely to have an impact on their self-worth and hence bring
out kindness in them that they will then show to others. Classes and
performance experiences will foster community and hence build their
self-confidence and self-esteem.
